Adding Semantics into WSDL and UDDI

The future of the web seems to be in machine-readable syntactic and semantic descriptions of machine-usable services, which enable also mobile devices to dynamically discover, select and invoke web services. This article presents methods proposed to add semantics to service descriptions with WSDL-S, and to enhance UDDI service directory with semantic references and external matcher services. Some assessment of these methods’ relevance, possibilities and problems is also given.
